HIGH ABOVE AN IMPOSING VALLEY –
THE LAUTERTAL –
IS AN 800 YEAR OLD ESTATE
The original castle was built during the 12th century by the knights of Maisenburg and, thereafter, inhabited by diverse noble persons. After a major fire in 1810, the quintessential castle was abandonned and it deteriorated. The castle’s forework continued to be used as an agricultural farmyard. Throughout the century, the forework, too, became in dire need of renovations. Markus and Anja Stoll have stepped up to the challenge of renewing the castle ruins since 2003 and have since established a real gem out of the historical buildings which is, in the meantime, known throughout Germany as an exclusive event and meeting location. The centuries-old tradition as a meeting place, as well as a getaway place from everyday stress, is still carried out to this very day at HOFGUT MAISENBURG.
